Jal Tattva (Water Element) The Protector of Body
At Revine Naturopathy, we believe in the power of the Jal Tattva, or the water element. Water is essential for life and plays a key role in keeping our bodies healthy. Our bodies are made up of a lot of water, including blood, sweat, and other fluids. This water keeps us hydrated, helps our muscles and joints work smoothly, and allows us to handle life’s challenges with ease.
Water is a protective element. It protects our bodies from the roughness of air, the heat of fire, and the empty space of ether. When we feel pain, burning sensations or inflammation, water helps soothe and calm us. It is also linked to our sense of taste, which is why it’s so important for enjoying and digesting food.
In Ayurveda, water is called “Jala” and has qualities like coldness, wetness and softness. These qualities are crucial for our overall balance. Too much water can weaken our digestive fire, while too little can lead to problems like constipation.
Water helps in circulating blood and other fluids throughout the body, nourishing and purifying our system. It helps in the healthy functioning of muscles and joints, and it’s important for our emotional well-being too. When our water element is balanced, we feel more adaptable and can handle stress better.
Our bodies need about 70% water to stay healthy. Drinking the right amount of water is crucial. If we don’t drink enough, toxins can build up, making us feel sluggish and sick. If we drink too much, we can wash away important minerals, making us feel weak and restless. A good rule is to drink 1 cup of liquid every 2 hours, totalling 8 to 12 cups a day.
At Revine Naturopathy, we use the healing power of water in our treatments. Whether through drinking water, taking a warm bath or using hydrotherapy, we harness the benefits of water to keep you healthy and balanced. By understanding and respecting the Jal Tattva, we help you maintain a harmonious flow of water in your body for optimal health and well-being.
